MS Awareness Week
In this study, induced neural stem cells (iNSCs) were generated to expose a PMS-specific interferon signalling gene signature and lipid metabolism.
This week is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week, so we are going to dive into a recent paper which studies the complexities of progressive multiple sclerosis (PMS). In this study, induced neural stem cells (iNSCs) were generated from patient-derived fibroblasts, preserving their epigenome to expose a PMS-specific interferon signalling gene signature and lipid metabolism.
This work has uncovered a novel cellular axis which may be at the root of the neurodegenerative mechanism of PMS, indicating potential therapeutic targets for future research.
