Nosey Neanderthal?

It has long been assumed that Neanderthals had large noses as an adaptation for colder climates, however the discovery of a Neanderthal Skull in Italy with and incredibly well preserved nasal passage has allowed scientists to sniff out the truth! This specimen has has allowed researchers to observe what has only been speculated in the past, and what was previously hypothesised to be a species-specific larger nose, is not present in this individual, with a nasal cavity that is not dissimilar from our own. This research goes against the previous notion that Neanderthals as a species had evolved larger noses to warm and moisten the cold dry air they breathed, and is supported by the morphologies of modern human communities that have lived in the arctic circle for generations.
